The Red Cat is AA top cat

The Red Cat has been given the prestigious owner of two AA Rosettes and will be prominently featured in the Rossettes restaurant guide due out towards the end of 2011.  In addition, just a few days after the AA inspection was anonymously conducted the modern British restaurant was honored with a Taste Lancashire Highest Quality Assured award after it received extremely high praise from a mystery diner sent by the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board.

The two AA Rosettes recognise excellent restaurants with consistent, precise cooking and a commitment to high quality ingredients.  Meanwhile, the Taste Lancashire Award acknowledges establishments who provide a consistently high quality dining experience and a commitment to local produce. The Red Cat is one of only a few across Lancashire to have received the highest award (above 80%).

Manager Mike Rawlinson, 28, set up the restaurant on Blackburn Road, Whittle-le-Woods, four years ago, along with his brother, award-winning chef Chris Rawlinson, 25.

“We aim to consistently provide our customers with the highest quality food and service and it is fantastic for that to be recognised with these awards,” Mike commented.

“It is a great achievement and something that all the team here are really proud of, but we won’t rest easy and will continue to give our customers an outstanding dining experience every time.”

The Red Cat was mentioned in the Michelin Guide 2009 and 2010 and is one of just three restaurants in the region to have attained two or more AA Rosettes.
