TV screens heated up by South West chilli producer

The South Devon Chilli Farm is the leading producer of Chillis in the South West, and is becoming famous due to its frequent appearances on national TV. They were featured on the Alan Titchmarsh show earlier this week, and the innovative company was also the focus in last Friday’s episode of Channel 4’s Drop Down Menu.

This is a daily cookery show which is broadcast live and goes on location to showcase passionate UK food producers. It also mixes in studio footage of the producers being interviewed and a celebrity chef creating a dish that uses their product.

For this particular show the co-founder of the South Devon Chilli Farm, Steve Waters, travelled up to London and spent the day with Atul Kochhar, the Michelin starred chef. Atul is the chef and owner of Banares, the famous Indian restaurant in Mayfair. Speaking about his chilli farm being involved in Drop Down Menu, Steve said he was delighted they had been chosen to participate in a show that promotes great British produce.

He continues: “Equally, it was both exciting and inspirational to watch Atul cook live for the show.  We certainly share a great passion for chillies and the huge variety of uses they have.”  See attached link to view the South Devon Chilli Farm on the Channel 4 website: (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/drop-down-menu/articles/food-producers-week-one).
