The Feast of Dorset, generally regarded as one of Britain’s best festivals of food, is returning for the third time this year. It is being held at the beautiful Deans Court at Wimbourne, across the 17th and 18th of September.

Thousands of visitors flock to what they call a magical event all looking for a ‘feast’ of some kind. This could be entertainment, activities, knowledge or even food. There are many different features which have made the Feast of Dorset a must on many peoples calendars.

The West Country’s rich choice of products is showcased in over 100 displays and exhibits. The range of local produce includes chocolate, cheese, organic vegetables, meat, bread, tea and wine. The wide range of local foods available never fails to surprise visitors from other areas, as those living in other counties tend to think of Dorset as a holiday county and not a food producer.

This year’s festival will include demonstrations by famous celebrity chef and lots of fun and games for the kids. There is also the opportunity to indulge in a fine dining experience out of doors, and a barbecue pit roast. This is all happening in an enchanting garden which is ornately lit and coloured with bohemian tents and tepees.

Celebrity chef and restaurateur, Mark Hix judged the event in its inaugural year (2009) as the Independent Magazine’s Best UK Food Festival and it continues to grow year on year.

Colton Care has just been announced as headline sponsor of the 2011 event.
