The Sussex Food Awards have recently opened entries for finding the best drink and food companies running a business in 2012 and 2013. The competition is currently accepting nominations and this is the seventh year that the event has taken place.
There are a panel of judges which are going to be deciding which companies have the finest food and this panel is chaired by Clive Beddall, an expert from the food industry. There are going to be eight categories of prizes and there is also going to be a public vote to help decide on which company wins. It is expected that the voting is going to take place in early June.
Last year West Sussex was a particularly strong performer and they won around half of all the prizes available. The event is something that is strongly supported by local organisations and businesses and the scheme is regarded as rather prestigious.
Those who win the awards can expect a good deal of extra business because people will understand that their quality is some of the finest in Sussex and perhaps the UK. There are still sponsorship opportunities available for the festival and companies are encouraged to enquire.
