Ludlow Food Festival

The Ludlow Food Festival promises to be plenty of fun for many this year with a great deal of attractions lined up for families and those who simply enjoy food.

Ludlow, located in Shropshire, has a reputation for offering fine drink and food to those who visit and is celebrating the festival’s 16 year anniversary this year from September 10th- 12th.  Around 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the event this year from across the globe.

The heart of the festival features local produce which ranges in everything from artisan cheeses to real ales to rare breed meat.

During the festival the Castle grounds become alive as displays and laden stalls are set up along the historic streets of the fascinating medieval town.  ‘Trails’ are also set up so that visitors can travel in a set path as they sample a large range of breads, sausages, and beers so that they can cast their vote for favourites.

The Castle Gardens also offer plenty to visitors with plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, and other venues where festival attendees can sit back and rest their legs as they watch the festivities.

Throughout the three day event there will be plenty of demonstrations, informative talks, displays, and hands on workshops.

Cookery classes will also be held with local chefs Will Holland from the Great British Menu offering his instruction.

This will also be the first year that food traders from the UK are invited to take place in the British Street Food Awards competing against ea other to produce the best meal out of mobile kitchens.

Adding to the lively nature of the event will be The Levi Roots Experience, cooking with kids, a circus, street performers, and Caribbean music.
