Recently setting things into motion the London Restaurant Festival put tickets on sale for probably the most exclusive pop up restaurant. After drinks at the Savoy guests will be ferried by boat to the London Eye where a capsule will be transformed into a 10 seater restaurant that will be serviced by Michelin-starred chefs and their excellent dishes.
Those participating in the event include Jason Atherton, Angela Hartnett, Pierre Koffmann, Claude Bosi, Marcus Wareing and the event will be completed back at the Savoy. The London Restaurant Festival now in its third year will have a schedule of a myriad of events this year from 3-17 October.
The Gourmet Odyssey returns where diners enjoy a different course at a different restaurant with transport by Routemasters bus and areas covered include Soho, Piccadilly, Clerkenwell and Mayfair. There are also walking routes available this year. This year the culinary debate Chewing the Fat returns with the theme There is No Such Thing as Ethnic Food.
At King’s Place 11 October, ticket holders get to see guest hosts, that will include AA Gill, return to have an evening of head to head culinary wit. At the Criterion will be Starter For Ten an hilarious foodie quiz on 4 October where great food will accompany a test of food knowledge.
A film festival of mini foodie movies will be at different hotels in Charlotte Street and Covent Garden. Guests will enjoy fine cocktails and then get to see a movie followed by a full three course meal that will be inspired by the film. What’s for Lunch is an event that will challenge top London chefs to improve on classic British dishes.
