With this year’s Mold Food and Drink Festival coming up in September, photographers from three camera clubs in the area will be taking a great interest in the proceedings. Last year at the festival there was a photographic competition for the first time. It was sponsored by the Mold Academy of Design and Mold Camera Club were the only participants.
It was a great success, however, and this year there is a lot more interest. As well as Mold Camera Club, this year photographers from Deeside and Hawarden camera clubs will be taking part in the competition. The chairman of Mold Camera Club, Chris Noble, said that the standard was very high last year and that he is certain that standard will be maintained this year with entries from all three clubs.
The chairman of the Mold Food and Drink Festival, John Les Tomos, said that it was very exciting to have the three clubs involved. The entries for the competition will be in three categories: growing food, rearing food and food manufacturing. All entrants will have their photos posted online and the winners’ photos will be on display at the festival in the New Street car park on the 22nd and 23rd of September.
