Lancashire is on the Sunday Times food list

This year, two restaurants in Lancashire made it into the Sunday Times food list. This is a summary of the best restaurants in Britain and this year Ramsoms in Ramsbottom features for the first time, as does Langho in Northcote. Proprietor of the former is Chris Johnson who has been in charge for nearly 30 years. The Sunday Times describe him as a great character who is never afraid to share with diners what he thinks they should eat.

He has also been known to assist diners with choosing the right sort of wine for their meal. He commented, “When you drink wine with the wrong meal it can really ruin the potential of the drink. It is wonderful to be recognised in such prestigious list and I would like to thank my chef and all of my staff.”

Many people have already made the trip to Lancashire just to eat at the restaurant and this recognition from the Sunday Times is only further going to cement the restaurants reputation as a great place to eat.

This is the third award that Ramsons has won this year, the others being Restaurant of the Year from the Manchester Food & Drink Festival and an award from the Good Food Guide for having the best wine list. Despite its excellence it still remains the cheapest place to eat in the top 100.
