Jean-Christophe Novelli brings his unique genius to Greater Manchester

Jean-Chritophe Novelli’s genius is recognised in all four corners of the globe, and now he is bringing his unique skills to Rochdale. This is a man who can claim 5/5 Michelin Awards and AA Rosettes and first achieved culinary fame and acclaim at only 19. A master of the kitchen, he will be plating up his own gastronomic delights during the finest , and free, celebration of taste and sound in Greater Manchester.

The Rochdale Feel Good Festival is returning for its 5th year and will take place between the 31st August-1st September 2012. It is all set to be the biggest and best yet, and with Jean-Christophe Novelli on board, it looks as if these plans are right on track.

Few people would dare even dream of being appointed private Head Chef to Elie de Rothschild before they reached 20. Furthermore, to then move on to running the kitchen at Keith Floyd’s pub, The Maltsters, in the midst of filming the owner’s famous TV shows, before opening four restaurants of your own in London, despite starting out with no more than £500, would be notable achievements.

But Novelli has done all that, and more. A fascinating foodie, seven years ago he opened The Novelli Academy, an institution that three months later was rated as one of the top 25 cookery schools in the world. Clearly then he’s not just passionate about cuisine, but also keen to spread his knowledge and understanding of what makes a memorable menu. As such his appearance on Friday, August 31st, at Rochdale Feel Good Festival, which sees him showcasing several delectable dishes (not to mention a plethora of talents) inside the food tent, should ensure he inspires even greater numbers of epicures.

Debbie O’Brien, Event Manager said:

“Given Jean-Christophe’s background, not just as a fantastic chef but as a true entrepreneur too, he’s the perfect kitchen maestro for opening day. Rochdale has a real get up and go spirit, as does Jean-Christophe, so it’s an ideal match really. It’s impossible not to be entertained by him as he cooks with such passion, and the food’s obviously rather tasty too.”

Further announcements will be made on additional celebrity guests in the coming weeks. Keep up to date with the latest minute-by-minute news at https://www.facebook.com/feelgoodfestival, via our tweets at www.twitter.com/feelgoodfest, or at www.rochdale.gov.uk/events.
