Huge crowds expected at the Broadstairs Food Festival

Thousands of expected to head to Kent in October for the Broadstairs Food Festival that will open up on October 2nd. The food fair is notable in the area given the fact that it sports over 100 different stalls that are all packed with local and national favourites.

The festival will be started with a gala dinner held at the Bayside Restaurant at the East Kent College with students getting the chance to show off their ability to cook for their lucky diners. The college is a regular sponsor for the festival and receives all of their produce from the Broadstairs High Street traders.

The three day food fair festival will take place on October 5th and 6th at the Victoria Gardens and Promenade. The festival will also be open to visitors for free on Sunday October 7th although it will close up early at 5am..

As part of the free entry guests will be treated to cooking demonstrations, free samples of county and local produce, and the chance to see plenty of great new food items. The festival will also hold a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Saturday with prizes awarded to children that bring the best dressed and most cuddly bears.

Last year over 50,000 people attended the event that also will offer visitors live music at the Broadstairs Pavilion due to sponsorship and aid from Thorley Taverns. Hullabaloo, a favourite local band, will offer their own musical talents Friday and on Saturday Ben Mills from X Factor along with his band will take the stage.

A weekend wristband costs £5 and will allow patrons of the festival access to both concerts with all proceeds being used to help support the festival for years to come. Generally speaking, the festival is completed funded by local businesses and residents.
