Paul Hollywood, the celebrity baker, will be turning the heat up a few notches this year at the 2013 Stratford Food Festival. Known widely as the host of the Great British Bake-Off, Hollywood has become a favourite in households for his wry humour and blunt to the point statements.
Showplace Events, the festival organisers, are based in Stratford and have already managed to book Hollywood as the headline act for the weekend event that will be held at the Stratford Racecourse on September 14th and 15th.
Although Hollywood may be best known for the BBC2 show, he is actually quite busy on the side with his artisan bread business and is a well known figurehead of the food industry and in particular the baking sector. He regularly makes appearances on food networks and on TV shows and also has many best selling books to his name.
Charlotte Harris from Showplace Events stated that they are thrilled that Paul has decided to speak at their event and that it will be amazing to be able to feature one of the top bakers of the UK as the headline act for the weekend.
She added that those in attendance can choose to watch Hollywood as he gives demonstrations or they can actually met him at his meet-and-greet sessions or book signings.
The programme for the festival will also include many regional food and drink producers as well as some local producers, industry expert talks, and plenty of tastings for guests to enjoy. There will also be live music and special activities set up for the children.
Harris went on to explain that they are aware of how important the Great British Bake-Off has become and so they will continue to elaborate on the theme throughout the weekend. She said that the racecourse site which is new this year, offers them much more space so they can offer much more to attendees then they have been able to in past years.
