Foodies are in for a real treat at the Wokingham Food and Drink Festival

Fans of food and drink are going to be delighted with what is on offer at the Wokingham Food and Drink Festival, which is going to be returning to the town later this month. Those who are attending the event are going to be able to enjoy some of the incredible food from local producers and the event is going to be taking place at Elms Field, which is located on the Elms Road.

The event has already proved incredibly popular and the organisers have recently decided to reduce the size of one marquee, despite more people coming to the event than planned. This is so that more outdoor space can be utilised in order to increase the capacity of the venue. All of the potential pitches available for companies have been sold and the organisers have stated that people should stop applying.

One of the organisers of the event as Stan Hetherington and he has stated, “So far everything has gone very smoothly and we are seeing some of the best stalls from last year coming back as well as an incredible number of new ones. This event has been going on for six years and we are delighted to see that it keeps getting more successful as each year goes by.

“Every year we struggle to decide who is going to be coming to the event as there are always more applicants than there are stalls available. We decided this year to go for a balance between old favourites as well as some new offerings.”

One of the most popular stalls at the festival is sure to be that which has been set up by Angela Slade. She focuses on growing chillis and at the festival she is going to be selling several chilli plants which people are going to be able to take home and use to grow chillis for themselves.
