Celebrations to mark the launch of Taste of Edinburgh

Some of the best chefs from across Scotland are going to come together in order to launch the official campaign for the Taste of Edinburgh. It is expected that around 30,000 people are going to attend the event and early ticket sales have been very promising. The event is taking place at The Meadows and will see over 15 award-winning restaurants in attendance.

The event is taking place during July and is part of the summer festival. In order to get children interested in food, tickets are being given away free to children who are under 12 years old. Many restaurants who attended the festival in 2011 have come back for this year’s event because they realised what a fantastic occasion it was last year.

A great deal of British and Scottish food is going to be available at the event and, as well as the restaurants, over 100 food producers are going to be attending. Many of these are going to be running demonstrations about preparing their food, and also offering samples for people to try. Of course, visitors are going to be able to buy some of this fantastic food as well.

Another reason why people want to attend the event is to go to a cooking class run by AEG Perfekt. The managing director of the festival is Justin Clarke and he has stated, “This is the sixth year in which the event has taken place and every year it seems as if the lineup of attendees just gets better and better.

We are delighted to say that ticket sales are going well, and we have managed to attract some of the best restaurants from all over Scotland and the rest of the UK.” The event has been taking place since 2007 and over the years has managed to attract some of the most famous names in food.
