An audience with Ian Rankin will include free beer, great food and wine

There are very few tickets remaining for the Royal Blind production ‘ An evening with Ian Rankin’, which is being held on Friday September 2 at the Caledonian Brewery in Edinburgh. This is a small and exclusive event and, as well as an audience with the top UK crime writer, there will be free beer, food and wine with the meal. The brewery has closed it doors to the public, so guests will experience a very special occasion.

During the event, which is being hosted by Stephen Jardine, the TV presenter, Rankin will be giving an exclusive sneak preview of the ‘Impossible Dead’. This is the second in the Malcolm Fox series of books and will be published by Orion Publishing on October 13 in both hardback and ebook.

After the reading, those present will have the chance to participate in a question and answer session with the esteemed writer and there will also be a raffle and an auction of exclusive memorabilia donated by Rankin himself to raise funds for Royal Blind.

Guests will be invited to bid to meet best selling crime author Ian Rankin at the infamous Oxford Bar for a pie and a pint. All eats and drinks are on Ian! It’s the perfect setting to enjoy discussing the life and times of the troubled but brilliant Inspector Rebus and to find out more about the cops who investigate other cops – The Complaints.

Ian joined forces with Highland Park to create a unique whisky to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Inspector Rebus Novel. He visited Orkney in person to select a cask of single malt from a selection provided by Highland Park, which has now been used to create Rebus 20, a single-cask limited edition malt. These highly sought after bottles of exquisite single malt whisky are not available for retail, so guests will have a unique opportunity to bid on one personally donated and signed by Ian.

Guests will have the chance to bid for a unique opportunity to appear as a character in Ian’s next novel which will be printed next year. For this prize Ian will meet with the winner to personally discuss the type of character to be written into the novel.

To finish this very special event Ian will meet and greet guests and will be available for a short book signing session.

Tickets for the event are priced at £60pp and this price includes a commemorative gift bag, a hot and cold buffet, wine with meal and a free selection of hand picked Caledonian Beers.
