East Midlands beer drinkers can now order a pint of their favourite Shipstone’s ale in their local now that this historic brewery from Nottingham have delivered their first ever cask barrels to pubs across the city.
Following their sucessful relaunch back in July, more than 2000 bottles of Shipstone’s has been sold through 80 East Midlands stockists.
Now that the cask version has been officially launched, it is expected that even more drinkers in Nottingham will be shifting to Shipstone’s.
Attendees of this year’s Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival will be amongst the first in the country to enjoy the new cask conditioned beer, as Shipstone’s will have a strong presence at the four-day event.
“Seeing the Shipstone’s badge being fitted to beer pumps really was something special”, commented Richard Neale, founder of the new Shipstone’s beer company.
“Getting this famous Nottingham brand back in bottles and on shelves was great, but cask conditioned beer really brings back the memories of Shipstone’s heritage.
One of the first venues to stock the beer was The Castle Pub, after taking delivery Felix Bevis, assistant manager, added:
“The new Shipstone’s beer has already proved incredibly popular in bottles with our customers, everyone has been delighted to see the historic brand back in pubs.
“Now that we can order and stock a cask version of the beer, we expect to see an increase in sales as the Shipstone’s brand continues to make its comeback.”
The cask conditioned Shipstone’s beer has an ABV of 3.8% and will be available for order through Libra Drinks.
