2012 Jersey Food Festival set to be bigger than last years inaugural event

The Jersey Food Festival is a nine-day event at takes place in May. The event is organised by Jersey Tourism and it has been created in order to showcase some of the best food, products, and drink from the local area.

There are also some of the best chefs from Jersey appearing at the event in order to create food and show off their skills. There are going to be a huge number of food related events taking place all over the island, from banquets to tastings.

This is the second year that the event has been organised and more information can be found on the tourism website for Jersey. It is going to be held in the Raddison Blu hotel that is located next to the Elizabeth Marina. Local products are going to be sold at the event and there is also going to be a great deal of street theatre, live entertainment and also producer and food demonstrations.

Of course, as you would expect, there are plenty of samples to try to see what products you want to buy. There is no charge for entry and the festival is running from the 19th until 27 May. The seven-day programme has a huge variety of events all the way from chocolate tasting to Michelin star dining.

John Garton is responsible for organising the project and he has commented, “This is one of the best months of the year for showing off local produce as it is when most of it is being produced. This should allow visitors to enjoy the freshest taste of local food. It is sure to be a wonderful events for producers and visitors.”
